According to data from the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED), protests and public demonstrations, both pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel, have spread throughout the world in response to the Gaza war. Fighting has continued unabatedly in the sixth week since Hamas’s deadly attacks on Israel.
In recent weeks, pro-Palestinian protestors have taken to the streets of London, Berlin, Paris, Ankara, Istanbul, and Washington, D.C., demanding an end to Israel’s heavy bombing and ground invasion, which, according to Gaza medical authorities, has killed over 11,000 people, almost 40% of them children.
Pro-Israel demonstrators demanded the release of hostages held by Hamas following the attacks on October 7 across southern Israel, which according to Israel’s count killed about 1,200 people, making it the deadliest day in the country’s 75-year history.
