 "'Kartik Aaryan Made A Mistake, There’s A Strong Dhurandhar Wave': Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh")
Despite getting mixed reviews, Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s latest release Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has been struggling at the box office. In a week, the film has managed to earn hardly Rs 25 crore. It is largely because Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar continues to wreak havoc and has crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark at the box office in India. Amid all this, trade analyst Taran Adarsh has also revealed that he had warned the makers of Kartik Aaryan’s film about the Dhurandhar wave.
Adarsh felt that the release date is a major factor in why Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has now worked as expected at the box office. “5 days before the release, I called Dharma Productions’ team and requested that they postpone the release. I told them, ‘There’s a strong Dhurandhar wave. You still have time. Even if you get the screens, you won’t get the audience’. When I saw the film, I told Kartik Aaryan that he made a mistake by coming amid the Dhurandhar wave," he said.

Interestingly, this comes a day after Kartik Aaryan seemingly took an indirect dig at Dhurandhar’s success and re-shared screenplay writer Saurabh Bharat’s note about Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri on Instagram, which read, “It’s so heartwarming to see that amidst the madness of hypermasculinity and testosterone-boasting action films, someone is making a breezing progressive film. Congratulations. For building a genre of cinema which entertains yet pushes an envelope deep in the society."

The film opened with Rs 7.75 crore on Day 1, followed by Rs 5.25 crore on Day 2. On Day 3, the Kartik Aaryan starrer collected Rs 5.5 crore, while Day 4 saw a slight dip with earnings of Rs 5 crore. However, the real test came on Day 5, its first Monday, when the film recorded a sharp fall and managed to collect only Rs 1.75 crore nett in India. With these figures, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri now stands at a total India net collection of approximately Rs 25.25 crore.
